Our Priorities for Gowerton
Speeding and Potholes
The local Liberal Democrats team believe Swansea Council should focus on getting the basics right and give more investment in making our roads and pavements safer by fixing potholes and listening to the community on the future of our roads.
The Labour-run Swansea Council have failed to get the basics right over the installation of speed-bumps and fixing the bad state of on many roads across Gowerton.
Many residents feel like there was a lack of consultation over the plans for the roads and pathway network in Gowerton. The Council should focus on getting the basics right and give more investment in making our roads and pavements safer by fixing the growing number of potholes across the village.
Caring for the Community
Gowerton has some local services that other communites can only wish for, the local Liberal Democrats team are keen to keep supporting those across the village who are caring for the comunity.
Anti-Social Behaviour and vandalism can have a huge negavite impact on residents as well as cost money to fix the damage. We have seen both play parks in the village and the train station damage by vandalism. The Liberal Democrat team will work with other to help fight crime effecting the community.
The Labour-run Council need to get the basics right and make sure the support is placed for those who need it in our community. These services need to be the council focus over an vanity projects that just add to the city credit card bill.
Cleaner and Greener Gowerton
The local Liberal Democrats team believe their need to be a focus on creating a cleaner and greener village.
Residents report the state of littering, dog fouling and the lack/size of bins. The local Lib Dems want to make sure the Labour-run council listen to the village, and we will fight the make sure we get the support from the teams who litter-picking, grass cutting and do weeding. These services help the individual and helps those in our communities who are working to make a Gowerton cleaner and greener.
