Cllr Sam Bennett has written to Swansea Council’s planning department with concerns over how out of date the SA1 master plan is.
Originally developed in 2017, the plan is the basis on which planning committee make decisions of the benefits of any planning application in the SA1 area.

The planning department has used the masterplan as a reference for 6 years. It badly needs updating to ensure projects still benefit the area. This will be impossible without an up to date document. It is vital that the Council update both the masterplan and the local development plan before further planning applications are submitted.

With a large and growing population now living in SA1 there is now significant deviation from the original document. Swansea Council must urgently reviewthe exisiting plan and consult on a new SA1 Master plan.
